Hovious Named Nashville Health Care Council President

The Nashville Health Care Council Board of Directors announced today that Hayley Hovious has been named president of the organization, effective June 1, 2015.

Hovious, who previously served as executive director of the Council Fellows initiative, joined the Council staff in 2014. In her role as president, she will work with executives and industry leaders to foster the growth of Nashville’s health care industry, and will oversee the implementation of educational, communications and leadership development initiatives to further establish the Council as a leading health care industry association.

“Hayley has proven herself to be a valuable asset to the Council. Her experience, character and management abilities make her the outstanding choice for this position,” said Council Chairman Bill Carpenter, Chairman and CEO, LifePoint Hospitals. “We look forward to her leadership as the Council grows and supports Nashville’s dynamic health care community.”

Since 1995, the Council has served as a trusted source for information on trends that influence the health care industry. The Council’s acclaimed member-only programs range from large ballroom events to small-group gatherings and provide executives with unparalleled access to national policymakers, industry innovators and thought leaders. The Council presents one-of-a-kind networking opportunities, both internationally and domestically, and offers further engagement through its Leadership Health Care and Fellows initiatives.

Prior to joining the Council staff, Hovious served as trade director at the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and as a brand manager at E.J.Gallo Winery in Modesto, Calif. A Nashville native, Hovious is a cum laude graduate of Smith College and has an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management. She was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to serve on the Tennessee District Export Council, is a member of the Downtown Nashville Rotary and is on the board of Sister Cities of Nashville.
