Leadership Health Care (LHC) announces the appointment of its 2013-2014 board of directors effective as of July 1, 2013. Ted Lomicka, vice president, assistant treasurer, Community Health Systems has been named board chairman and Kelvin Ault,vice president, tax, Vanguard Health Systems, will serve as board vice chairman.LHC is an initiative of the Nashville Health Care Council that fosters the talents of Nashville’s next generation of health care industry leaders by creating educational, networking and mentoring opportunities for the group’s more than 680 members.
There are two new appointments of LHC committee chairmen. Sarah Cook, senior executive director, account management, Healthways will lead the Education and Events Committee andBenson Sloan, finance manager, business development, HealthSpring will direct the Membership and Marketing Committee.
The following new directors joined the LHC board for three-year terms: Michael Bonner, director, financial and tax reporting, Cumberland Pharmaceuticals; Carrie Bryant, compliance officer, American HomePatient; Landon Gibbs, director, health care initiatives, Clayton Associates; Claire Cowart Haltom, attorney, Baker Donelson; Wes Hartig, associate, health care leveraged finance, Fifth Third Bank; and Clay Phillips, director, Provider Relations, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee.
Peter Attwater, Vanderbilt Owen School of Management Health Care MBA candidate, joins the group in a one-year student board seat. Mark Wainner, vice president, financial operations and revenue management, AmSurg, will also serve on the board for a renewed, one-year term.
Frazer Buntin, CEO, WhiteGlove Health and Beth Workman, chief accounting officer, DSI Renal are two board members that have been renewed to the board for three-year terms.
