Leadership Health Care offers opportunities for members to grow into leaders that can help sustain their organization’s growth and Nashville’s place as a catalyst for leadership and innovation. There are numerous ways to get involved in LHC, but we are always open to new ideas.

Attend LHC Events

LHC offers opportunities for continued development of health care industry knowledge through educational programming and networking opportunities for its members. Membership includes nearly 800 emerging leaders from 300 health care organizations.

Executive Briefings*

The Executive Briefing series offers LHC members insight on strategic business decisions, leadership and career development from senior industry leaders. Past speakers include:

Cohort Conversations*

The Cohort program facilitates peer mentoring in a small-group setting centered around a common focus topic lead by an experienced health care executive.  Cohorts meet six times in a season.  Dates and locations are set in advance by the mentor host and cohort coordinator.

Lunch and Learns*

The Lunch and Learn series provides LHC members with the opportunity to engage and connect with other members on a smaller scale, while also hearing about current health care industry trends. The events provide an opportunity for networking and the discussions serve to advance members’ knowledge on key industry-related topics.

Industry Tours*

Industry Tours leverage Nashville’s distinct advantage as home to health care’s leading and largest corporate headquarters and distribution sites and provide on-the-ground views of industry and nonprofit services. Past visits include Faith Family Medical CenterLentz Public Health Center, and Mercy Community Healthcare.

Delegations*

The annual LHC Delegation exposes members to respected national experts on health care policy and thought leaders from the public and private sectors.

Networking Receptions*

LHC offers membership networking events throughout the year, which bring members together in informal settings designed to encourage relationship building and camaraderie. The annual holiday and awards reception in December honors LHC members and organizational contributions from the previous year. LHC also hosts an annual summer reception and offers a quarterly Women’s Meetup networking event.

New Member Coffees

LHC offers quarterly New Member Coffees, giving new members an opportunity to learn more about the organization, network with other new members, and connect with current LHC committee and board members.

Sign Up to Volunteer

LHC members are offered opportunities to volunteer at select LHC and Nashville Health Care Council events, providing exposure and access to high-level Nashville leaders and expert policy and finance speakers. For more information, contact us at lhc@healthcarecouncil.com.

Apply to Join a Committee

Committees are established by application on an annual basis and serve LHC staff in an advisory capacity. Membership in each committee is open to four LHC board members and eight LHC members, and chaired by an LHC board member.

  • Delegation Committee – Responsible for advising on the agenda, content, speakers and networking events for a particular Delegation. You must have attended at least one Delegation within the last four years to apply for this committee.
  • Education Committee – Responsible for submitting recommendations to the LHC Director on curriculum for LHC educational programs.
  • Membership Engagement Committee – Responsible for engaging current LHC members throughout the year to encourage active participation and membership renewal.
  • Member Recruitment and Marketing Committee – Responsible for recruiting new members and marketing LHC through various channels.
  • Networking and Mentoring Committee – Responsible for developing and submitting topics for the Cohort Mentoring programing and serve as co-leads. In addition, responsible for serving as hosts for the LHC Small Group Coffees.
Become Nominated for the Board

Nearly 30 of Nashville’s most promising health care leaders across diverse sectors and professional services firms are represented on the LHC board. They are appointed and work on behalf of LHC to contribute to the breadth and strength of Nashville’s $95 billion health care industry. The board also leads LHC’s efforts to create educational, networking and mentoring opportunities for its nearly 800 individual members.

Note: You must apply to be on a committee, be accepted to serve on a committee and then actively serve on a committee for one year in order to be qualified to serve on the LHC Board.

Nominate Someone for an Award

With the assistance of its members, volunteers and supporting organizations, LHC has experienced tremendous momentum over the past 15 years. On an annual basis, LHC honors its most impressive and engaged up-and-coming health care industry leaders, as well as the organization providing the most support to LHC’s mission to develop talent within Nashville’s premier health care industry cluster.

This award program recognizes excellence within the membership and honors LHC supporters for their consistent and valuable contributions. Nominations are submitted by members in the following categories:

  • Health Care Emerging Leader of the Year – an individual member who demonstrates outstanding leadership, motivation and talent within the industry.
  • Ambassador of the Year – an individual member who has shown dedication and commitment to LHC and serves as a positive reflection of the organization’s mission and goals.
  • Supporting Organization of the Year – an organization within the health care community that is providing notable support to LHC through activities that can include memberships, sponsorships, hosting events, consulting and thought-leadership.
