A Letter from the Leadership Health Care Board of Directors

A Letter from the Leadership Health Care Board of Directors

Members of Leadership Health Care,

We, the Board of Leadership Health Care (LHC), stand in solidarity against racial injustice and unequivocally denounce any form of racism, discrimination, or prejudice. Through our network of members representing the future leaders of the health care industry, we recognize that we have the responsibility to foster a culture of equality and equity in order to help drive necessary change within our industry. We go forward with a renewed commitment to celebrate diversity, create an inclusive culture, and serve as an ambassador for change in the Nashville health care community.

July 1 marks the beginning of our fiscal year, an opportunity to reassess our programs and operations to enhance our offerings to drive greater value and inclusivity. To achieve these objectives, we are assembling a task force that will study all LHC initiatives and activities in order to make recommendations on how we can improve. Our goal is that anyone may benefit from the same opportunities as all of our current and past members have enjoyed. A few areas of focus will include:

  • Setting expectations among our board and committee members to foster inclusivity, both within LHC and among the organizations we represent.
  • Setting goals to bring diversity and inclusion to the forefront of our member engagement and recruitment partnerships.
  • Offering new professional development opportunities for our members to address injustice and inequality through leadership.

Our strength as an organization is bringing people together providing leadership development opportunities. We will continue to do this as we navigate conversations of inclusivity, diversity, and allowing all voices an opportunity to be heard.

A special interest update on these efforts will be provided before the end of our first quarter in September. As the next generation of health care leaders, we are committed to embodying the change we hope to see in our industry.

We welcome feedback from all of our members on ways in which LHC can engage and inspire inclusion and diversity. If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, please contact Molly Vice, Leadership Health Care Director at mvice@healthcarecouncil.com.

Sincerely,

The Leadership Health Care Board of Directors
