Applications open today for the 2016 Fellows class, an annual initiative of the Nashville Health Care Council. This nationally unique program brings together senior health care leaders to explore strategies to meet the industry challenges of today and the future.
Fellows is co-directed by former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, M.D., and Larry Van Horn, a leading expert in health care management and economics, and professor at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management. Created in 2013 in response to the unprecedented change and transformation occurring in health care, the program leverages the expertise of the industry’s founding leadership in Nashville, as well as nationally known figures and leading academic institutions, to create a forum for thought leadership for the industry.
“Fellows cultivates cross-pollination between the nation’s best and brightest from all sectors of the health care industry, challenging them to become disruptive, solutions-oriented leaders in today’s rapidly changing health care environment. There is no better place than Nashville, the nation’s health services capital, to host this annual initiative to move our industry forward,” said Senator Frist.
Fellows helps leaders define complex problems, develop actionable solutions and foster leadership skills to support organizations of all sizes.
“Being successful in today’s health care industry requires more collaboration among leaders than ever before,” said Van Horn. “Fellows stands alone in bringing together thought leaders to lend their diverse perspectives to a number of major issues, and to work together toward solutions that will have a lasting impact on the U.S. health care system.”
