Council Hosts Chinese Delegation

Council Hosts Chinese Delegation
by Nashville Health Care Council | Apr 07, 2014

A group of hospital executives from China visited Nashville March 27-28 as part of a trip across the U.S. to visit hospitals and care facilities. The group, who collectively represented nearly 30 hospitals in China, was hosted by the Nashville Health Care Council and QHR.

Representatives from China’s Angel Hospital Group, CDH Investment, Jun Kun Hospital and Kangning Psychiatry Hospital Group toured St. Thomas West, where they were given an up close view of the cardiology, emergency and Unity departments. Tour directors included the hospital’s chief medical officer, director of operations and director of emergency services.

The Council hosted a luncheon at the Baker Donelson Event Center for the delegates attended by Nashville executives with interest in China, most notably Chinaco Healthcare Corporation founders Dr. Thomas Frist, Jr., and Chuck Elcan. James Bearden, partner, Gresham Smith and Partners, addressed the group to talk about Nashville’s health care industry and relationship with China.

In the afternoon, the group split up to tour Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital and Centennial Medical Center. At Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital, representatives from Kangning Psychiatry Hospital Group and CDH Investment visited the children’s, adolescent and adult wings of the hospital and learned about the hospital’s treatment options. The group also learned how the facility is designed as a compassionate, safe place to best serve patients.

Delegates from China’s Angel Hospital Group and Jun Kun Hospital visited Centennial Medical Center where they toured the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Middle Tennessee’s first and only hospital dedicated solely to the care of women and babies.
