Council Partners with Google for Entrepreneurs in Health Tech Exchange

150The Council recently joined with Nashville Entrepreneur Center (The EC) to serve as a program partner for Google for Entrepreneurs (GFE) on May 23. Council Director of Membership Services David Greider kicked off a week of education, connections and experiences with an overview of Nashville $73 billion health care eco system, including an explanation of the Nashville Health Care Industry Family Tree.

Council members Kelly Aldrich, chief clinical transformation officer for the Center for Medical Interoperability, Mark Harris, CEO and founder of NextGxDx, and Alex Tolbert, CEO and founder of Bernard Healthcare, discussed the roles of their organizations in Nashville’s diverse health care community.

Later, June Manning, Council Fellows director, led a panel (pictured) on Serving in the Continuum of Care with Robert Berkompas, M.D., CMO of Alive Hospice, Morgan Wills, president and CEO of Siloam Health, and David Guth, president and CEO of Centerstone.

Nashville was chosen as one of only a few international cities to host a Google for Entrepreneurs Exchange, an immersion program that bridges the gap between startups, experts and new markets. The Nashville program is the only one focused on health tech.

Google for Entrepreneurs Exchange programs have taken place in:

    • Dubai – Travel, December 5 – 11, 2015
    • London – Fashion Tech, November 23 – 28, 2015
    • Seoul – Gaming, November 8 – 16, 2015
    • San Francisco – Scale, November 1 – 6, 2015
    • Paris – Retail and Smart City, March 21 – March 25, 2016
    • Nashville – Health Tech, May 22 – May 28, 2016

GFE enables tech hubs like Nashville by providing them with resources such as technical content, business tools and infrastructure upgrades to support increasing demand from developers and startups and help grow their local economies.

Eight teams participated in the GFE Health Tech Exchange in Nashville:

Care Advisors from Chicago, IL
