100-Bed Facility to Support Expansion of High Quality OB/GYN/Pediatric Services Meeting Chinese and International Standards

Shanghai, China – October 14, 2014 – Gresham, Smith and Partners, a leading multi-disciplinary design and consulting firm for the built environment, is pleased to announce it has been selected to provide architectural, interior design and engineering services for a new 269,000 square-foot, 100-bed hospital in Ningbo, China. The new facility will provide high-quality OB/GYN and Pediatric services for private patients, meeting both Chinese and international standards. GS&P’s competition-winning design carefully applies a modern aesthetic that will contribute to and enhance the community while supporting the hospital as a landmark building.

Kim, AIA, Gresham, Smith and Partners. “Our design seeks to further their efforts of providing high quality care and will incorporate evidence-based and LEAN design strategies that are proven to support patient, family and staff satisfaction while improving health outcomes and operational efficiencies. Our goal is to create a facility-of-choice among women in the region by incorporating advances in western design with elements to support Chinese culture.”

With the goal of delivering the highest quality of care and fostering long-term patient relationships, the new facility will contain 32,000 square-feet of outpatient emergency space, 16 LDRP executive suites and 4 LDRP presidential suites. To respect privacy and deliver the utmost personalized service, the LDRP presidential suites provide their own check-in, delivery and recovery spaces. The new hospital will also include 2 C-section suites, 4 operating rooms, 4 NICU beds, 2 ICU beds, 64 inpatient beds, a patient and staff cafeteria, grand lobby, a VIP lounge on the top floor and a 250-car underground parking area.

In addition to design services for this new facility, GS&P is currently working on several facilities in China including the Shanghai New Hongqiao International Medical Center Shared FacilityHuashan Hospital, Tianjin Taishan Cancer Hospital and Columbia Asia Wuxi hospital.  Cilin Hospital, designed by GS&P for CHC, has recently entered into full operation in Zhejiang province, China.
