Congress established MedPAC in 1997 to analyze access to care, cost and quality of care, and other key issues. The commission typically provides two major reports to Congress each year.
Dr. Perlin is one of five new members appointed to the commission by Gene L. Dodaro, Comptroller General of the United States and head of the U.S. Government Accountability Office. The commission is made up of 17 members, each serving a three-year term.
