Health:Further Chosen to Lead TennCare-Facilitated Innovation Program

Nashville, TN (February 7, 2017) — Health:Further announced today that its in-house research group is leading an innovation search for the three TennCare managed care organizations in
Tennessee – Amerigroup, UnitedHealthcare of Tennessee and BlueCare Tennessee. The search is part of the TennCare Innovation Program (TIP) facilitated by the Division of Health
Care Finance and Administration (HCFA), which includes the Bureau of TennCare – Tennessee’s Medicaid program. “We are very excited to facilitate this process with the TennCare managed care organizations. Innovation has the potential to improve outcomes and reduce costs, two key objectives for our program,” said HCFA chief information officer Hugh Hale.

Based on a series of interviews and discussions conducted by Health:Further’s research group, the managed care organizations collectively selected “Member Outreach and Communication”
as the theme for their innovation search. “TennCare’s managed care organizations help provide health coverage to approximately 20% of the state’s population.” said Marcus Whitney, CEO of
Health:Further. We’re thrilled to work with them to identify the most innovative companies in America to address the challenge of member outreach and communication, and hopefully this
will catalyze new partnerships that impact people’s lives.“

The Nashville Health Care Council (Council) is observing the TIP program for the benefit of its members. Hayley Hovious, President of the Council, said “The Council is proud to support this
initiative and we are pleased to see that Nashville’s spirit of innovation and collaboration will be put to use in finding solutions for the TennCare system.”

Companies may apply for evaluation by Health:Further for TIP. Please visit
