Leadership Health Care announces Board of Directors and Officers

NASHVILLE — Leadership Health Care, a group of emerging health care leaders organized in partnership with the Nashville Health Care Council, recently announced board leadership for 2007-2008, as well as the appointment of nine new board members. All terms took effect on July 1, 2007.

Neil Heatherly, CEO of StoneCrest Medical Center, has been appointed chairman, and Teresa Sparks, corporate controller at Symbion, will serve as vice chairwoman.

“Since its founding in 2002, Leadership Health Care has grown from just a small group to a dynamic organization of nearly 400 individuals with a common passion for the continued success of the health care services industry here,” Heatherly said. “Working in concert with the Health Care Council, Leadership Health Care will continue to focus on fostering the next generation of health care leaders and reinforcing Nashville as the nation’s health care industry capital.”

The following nine new members will join the Leadership Health Care Board for three-year terms: Bo Bartholomew (PharmMD), Will Clark (Healthways), Jimmy M. Evans (Marsh), Angela Humphreys (Bass, Berry & Sims), Lisa Tate Nix (Deloitte & Touche), Kim Ramsey (National Renal Alliance), Christy C. Vitulli (BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee), Melissa Waddey (HCA Skyline Medical Center) and Mark Wainner (AmSurg).

“The Leadership Health Care Board truly reflects the diverse nature of Nashville’s health care industry. We are excited to be working with such an active and dedicated group of leaders,” said Caroline Young, LHC executive director.
