LHC programs include quarterly Executive Briefings, Lunch and Learns, Industry Tours, Women’s Meetups and New Member Coffees. In addition, LHC offers bi-annual networking receptions and an annual delegation.
The Executive Briefing series offers LHC members insight on strategic business decisions, leadership and career development from senior industry leaders. Past speakers include:
- Bill Carpenter, Chairman and CEO, LifePoint Health
- Milton Johnson, Chairman and CEO, HCA
- Joey Jacobs, Chairman and CEO, Acadia Healthcare
Lunch and Learns*
The newly launched Lunch and Learn series provides LHC members with the opportunity to engage and connect with other members on a smaller scale, while also hearing about current health care industry trends. The events provide an opportunity for networking and the discussions serve to advance members’ knowledge on key industry-related topics.
Industry Tours leverage Nashville’s distinct advantage as home to health care’s leading and largest corporate headquarters and distribution sites and provide on-the-ground views of industry and nonprofit services. Past visits include Faith Family Medical Center, Lentz Public Health Center, and Mercy Community Healthcare.
The annual LHC Delegation exposes members to respected national experts on health care policy and thought leaders from the public and private sectors.
LHC offers membership networking events throughout the year, which bring members together in informal settings designed to encourage relationship building and camaraderie. The annual holiday and awards reception in December honors LHC members and organizational contributions from the previous year. LHC also hosts an annual summer reception and offers a quarterly Women’s Meetup networking event.
New Member Coffees
LHC offers quarterly New Member Coffees, giving new members an opportunity to learn more about the organization, network with other new members, and connect with current LHC committee and board members.
*Annual LHC membership does not include registration fees to certain LHC events. Some events have a separate registration fee, but are only open to LHC members.
While the most important aspect of the delegation is the opportunity to hear from high-caliber health care and policy experts, there’s also a tremendous value in how the delegation enables Nashville businesses and business leaders to have their voices heard in Washington. — Will Howorth, vice president of strategic business growth, HCA Urgent Care, and 2016-2017 LHC Chairman, on the 2017 Delegation to Washington, D.C.
