Leadership Health Care (LHC) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2013 Delegation to Washington, D.C., scholarships: George Brandes, associate, Strategic Planning and Innovation Group, Division of Health Care Finance and Administration, State of Tennessee and David Anderson, manager, Financial Operations group, AmSurg.
The annual Leadership Health Care Delegation to Washington, D.C., connects emerging industry leaders with many of the nation’s most respected health care policy experts. The program offers delegates the unique opportunity to hear from members of Congress, Administration officials, Capitol Hill staff and national thought leaders on key health care policy issues, federal health care spending priorities, and reform implementations.
George Brandes is an associate with the State of Tennessee’s Strategic Planning and Innovation Group, Division of Health Care Finance and Administration. His work focuses on the continued evaluation of the impact of a federal insurance exchange in Tennessee and designing payment innovation strategies. He previously served as part of the small team charged with all of Tennessee’s contingency planning efforts related to federal health care reform, where he led several special projects including the development of a national public-private partnership with the tax preparation industry to facilitate enrollment in insurance exchanges.
David Anderson is a manager in the Financial Operations group of AmSurg, a Nashville-based ASC company, where he provides industry insight through analytical and quantitative research. Anderson began his professional career as a commercial portfolio analyst for a Fortune 500 company, soon after transitioning to its investment division. In 2007, Anderson began consulting with focuses in small business and startup companies.
