LHC Members Get Sneak Peak of Provision CARES Proton Therapy Center – Nashville

Last week Leadership Health Care (LHC) members had the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes tour of Provision CARES Proton Therapy Center – Nashville as part of LHC’s Industry Tour series. The Center is a member of Provision Healthcare, offering leading-edge cancer treatment options for patients across the Southeast focusing on personalized, comprehensive care. Physicians walk with patients through each step of the process in a nurturing environment. The Center’s goal is to help make proton treatment options available for as many cancer patients as possible.

Proton therapy is an advanced form of radiation therapy precisely targeting tumors and significantly reducing the amount of radiation exposure to a patient’s body during treatment. As a result, there is less damage to the patient’s healthy tissue around the tumor and the patient experiences fewer short-term and long-term side effects.

This is Provision CARES second Proton Therapy Center in Tennessee, having opened its flagship Center in Knoxville in 2014. The Nashville Center hopes to start seeing patients as early as August 2018. When the Center is fully operational, it will have the capacity to see up to 90 patients per day.
