Connie S. McGee, who recently was named as one of “25 Nashville business leaders to watch in 2014,” has joined national healthcare consulting firmPershing Yoakley & Associates.McGee, a widely known healthcare, business, and community leader, has been named a Principal at PYA and will be based in the firm’s Nashville office, PYA President Ed Pershing said. In October, PYA announced an expansion of its Nashville office and named another local healthcare executive, Shannon Sumner, to lead it.
“Having an executive of Connie’s background and experience is another major step for us in expanding our services in the Nashville area,” Pershing said. “She will lead our business development efforts and be significantly involved in the growth of PYA Analytics, our newest affiliate company.”
Pershing noted that McGee’s role as co-founder of Nashville’s “Evolve Women” program will help strengthen PYA’s growing relationship with Middle Tennessee’s entrepreneurial community.
“PYA has a 30-year history of excellence in client service, innovative solutions, and an entrepreneurial spirit that has contributed to the firm’s success,” McGee said. “I’m excited to join the PYA leadership team to help expand our presence in the robust Nashville healthcare community and create expansion opportunities on a national level.”
McGee has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare and business, working with consulting firms, entrepreneurs, and industry. She previously was with AirStrip Technologies and KPMG. Her areas of healthcare specialization include information technology, value data analytics and patient outcomes, continuum of care, and physician alignment.
The “Evolve Women” program is designed to help women start and grow their own businesses. McGee is also president-elect of the Tennessee Chapter of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and has served as a board member of the Nashville Technology Council.
