DALLAS – Market Center Management Company, the management company of leading trade centers and trade events around the world, today announced a partnership with Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) that will place the Nashville Medical Trade Center a preferred service provider for off campus Continuing Education (CE) events, beginning in 2013.
VUMC envisions hosting off campus CE programs inside the facility’s state-of-the-art Education and Training Center, specifically designed to support medical education, including the latest interactive technology and equipment. In addition to meeting rooms of various sizes, the Education and Training Center will feature a cadaveric lab, multiple simulation labs, and other new methods to train professionals in health care.
“Vanderbilt, one of the leading institutions in the world for medical education, is a critical partner as we create a global Education and Training Center at Nashville Medical Trade Center,” said Bill Winsor, president and CEO of Market Center Management Company. “To all professionals at all levels we will help provide a destination to gain the information they need for a complete understanding of continuing advancements in health care.”
The partnership will also allow both parties to explore future opportunities to collaborate on training and education at the Nashville Medical Trade Center.
“With the dominant presence of Tennessee’s health care industry serving as its backdrop, the Nashville Medical Trade Center is poised to become a national focal point for education and training programs,” said C. Wright Pinson, M.B.A., M.D., deputy vice chancellor for health affairs and CEO of the Vanderbilt Health System. “This unique facility will host, educate and train health care professionals in a centralized location, creating an outstanding environment not only for Vanderbilt but for providers from across the country. We look forward to the advantages and convenience this new facility will offer our CE training programs.”
Rapid health care advancements necessitate an increasing number of education and training programs for busy professionals. In response, Market Center Management Company previously announced the creation of a national center for education and training in the Nashville Medical Trade Center with Lipscomb University serving as the Lead Education partner and manager of the Center. Market Center Management Company and Lipscomb are currently working together to develop a full set of education offerings for the Center, including educational offerings from additional universities and academic medical centers. It will also host conferences, training sessions and other events form healthcare associations, medical societies and healthcare companies.
Nashville Medical Trade Center will be able to deliver a wide range of efficient programs inside a setting superior to other training locations for a variety of reasons. The facilities will feature the latest advancements in comfort, efficiency, connectivity and collaboration. The programming will cover an array of topics as diverse as the product segments showcased in the trade center. The centralized management of programming and scheduling will allow for a year-round calendar full of engaging events.
The Nashville Medical Trade Center, opening in 2013, is a 1.5 million square foot health care marketplace that unifies for the first time permanent showrooms, temporary exhibition space, and education and training facilities. The result is a comprehensive global marketplace for health care products, solutions and services.
