Cumberland Emerging Technologies (CET) launches on West End Avenue as a joint initiative with Cumberland Pharmaceuticals, Vanderbilt University and the State of Tennessee to identify innovative product ideas and advance them from the laboratory to the marketplace. This founding represents a milestone in the biotechnology sector’s attempts to establish a presence in Nashville.

CET forms collaboration agreements with some of the leading academic research centers in the United States, allowing the group to evaluate a range of new and emerging technologies and team with scientists to develop the most promising candidates.

CET also manages the Cool Springs Life Sciences Center when it launches in 2005. Both organizations serve to support the growth of the biomedical industry within Tennessee and the region.
