For its first deal, Columbia/HCA pays $850 million for Medical Care America, a Dallas-based outpatient-care company.
The move expands Columbia/HCA’s operations in key markets such as California, Florida and Texas, by adding 96 outpatient centers that offer oncology, orthopedics, cardiology and other services. And, in case there was any doubt, it lets the nation know the company will be expanding quickly.
